Created Issue: Backwards X-Axis data [18867]

Great option even with limited bells and whistles. I created a chart with numbered months on the X-axis and the data displayed as lines. The data was displayed "backwards" with the highest month to the left (closer to the origin) and the earlier months to the right. I used "01, 02, 03, 04...10, 11, 12" Does the leading zero screw up the sorting? I use it so that the list sorts correctly. Would it sort the months correctly if I used the full name of the month or do I need this to be a date field?

Hello,
 
I have a problem of display with the generated chartpart image. Sometimes the graph is correctly displayed and sometimes not.
It seems that this problem always appear when I click on the refresh button of Internet explorer or when I come back to the page with the graph.
If it's the first time I come on the page with the graph, no problem, the image is well displayed.
 
In my opinion, it seems that it's a problem of cache but I don't know if it's on the client side or on the server side and I have also no idea of how I can solve this issue.
Any ideas ?
 
Just for information : we use 3 servers in load balancer but I don't think it's the reason of this problem.

We have encountered a problem with finding the network folder in our sharepoint 2010 farm environment.

AppSettings:

Hello,

I have a problem of display with the generated chartpart image. Sometimes the graph is correctly displayed and sometimes not.

I had exacly the same problem. We have used session option to store images.

Problem appeared when load Cisco load balancer was run with 2 WFEs.

Solution which we used was to change configuration to:

This saturday this goes to production server(only there load balancer is running) and ill try to post if that worked.

Only problem which may occur is that chartImage will forbid usage of images from machine which it wasnt created by which would be silly if network folder support is created.

It worked in ChartPart 1.0 and stopped working after upgrade to 2.0.

As I understand, some code fragment was lost in the "ChartPart 2.0/WebParts/ChartPartWebPart.cs" in the "addPoints" method:

Though, I am responding in this post after a long time, but hope it would help someone around us.

I have the medium farm configuration with 3 WFEs load balanced. ChartImageHandler storage was set to Memory, I had to change it to session to make it work. Please see the app setting below.

Give it a try and let us how it works.

Hello,
We installed the Chart Part Web part and it works great. We then moved site collections to the new Web Application and we see Could not generate the chart, please reload page. The web part has been deployed to the new web app, feature turned on and we can see the lists, we just cannot get a display.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Wictor,

I followed your installation instructions to the letter, but the last step "Activate the feature on your Site Collection" isn't working for me.
ChartPart is not listed as available feature that I can activate.
I tried it on two different sites.

- WSS 3.0 SP2 with latest Cumulative Update package
- .NET 3.5 Framework SP 1 is installed
- .NET 3.5 SP1 Cart Controls are installed
- MS ChartControls are deployed globally
- MS Chart Controls is activated on the Web Application
- ChartPart is deployed to the Web Application

Is there something else I can check / verify?

I try resolve the problem with others topics in this forum, but I have not had success . I can not find the folders mentioned and i found a lot of files "web.config"

The component MSCharts and all othes are installed correctly.

Failed to apply a web.config modification to file 'configuration/system.web/pages'. The specified node "e:\Inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\40016\web.config" was not found in the web.config file.

This is the error I get when I try to activate the feature MSChartControls on any web application. It always points to this application. (port 40016) I am trying to get chartpart running but I can't get past this point. I checked the web.config and the pages node is there. I have found no error in the event viewer or the sharepoint logs.

I tried to run the chart and use a field that is set up for Choice Multiple Selection. However instead of pulling in the name of the value it just says Point 1, Point 2, Point 3. It works fine if it is a single select choice. Is there a way to pull in the actual choice labels instead of just Point 1.

Commented Feature: Percentage in normal charts [11029]

Is it possible to show the percentage on the Y or X axis in a normal chart?At the moment it shows 0.6,0.8, 1 instead of 60%, 80% and 100%.

The list that contains the data of the chart does have columns that are set on percentage.I am using WSS 3.0 and Chart Part 2.0

I did not sent Wictor my code because after doing the modifications (as per my requirement which has to show Value,count and % as label ; count, Percentage as Legend and all 3 values on mouse hover (tool tip)), I found the properties window of the webpart
is showing up like $Resources: Title ( which has to show only Title). So I thought it may not look good for you guys.

Modifications I did:
After downloading the Wictor's code I tried to debug the code and found that in order to get percentages I just need to workout on this part of the code in ChartpartWebpart.cs :

So what I did was I added a new variable called 'ntotal' and defined as:

Point.Label, Point.LegandText and Point.Tooltip.

So now if you want to add an attribute for percentage like 'ShowPercentage' as we have ShowLegend' and "ShowValueLabel' just search for 'ShowLegend' in all the .cs codes of the project and just repeat the same steps for 'ShowPercentage' .
In my case I donot need to add that attribute I just have to show the charts in same format as mentioned above so I just changed the Point.Label and Point.Legend directly without adding Showpercentage attribute.
Hence my Modified code part:

So using point.AxisLabel, point.YValues[0], Convert.ToInt32(point.YValues[0] / ntotal * 100) we can show how ever we want.

Point.AxisLabel- holds the columnValue( Like OnTime, Open etc)
point.YValues[0]- holds the count
Convert.ToInt32(point.YValues[0] / ntotal * 100)- formula to get percentages.

It shows like Open, #5-60%.

So I installed it per the instructions with the Install.cmd first and then removed it and ran the commands separatley to make sure there were no errors. Everything seemed to work fine until I tried to add it to the page. I get this error "ChartPart: A Web Part or Web Form Control on this Page cannot be displayed or imported. The type could not be found or it is not registered as safe."

Please help.

Hello I try to install the ChartPart for about 2 hours, however it does not work. I use the Version 2.0 Stable, installed exactly as described in the PDF file instructions.

Every time I want to add the webpart to a page, the following error message appears:
