where do I place the MSChartControls.wsp files in order to install? Usually they go in a folder in the 12hive features folder but the stsadm add solution can't find them....

hi wictor, I have installed the chartpart following the instruction in this site. When I add it on a site while I am on the server itself. It worked just fine. But when I am on my local machine or any other machine, the webpart wont even displays.. When I tried adding the webpart, it gives the following error:" A Web Part or Web Form Control on this Page cannot be displayed or imported. The type could not be found or it is not registered as safe. " what do I need to make it work on other machine. Please Help. Thanks.

I installed chartpart as instructed. I was able to add the chartpart webpart when I was in the sharepoint server. But when go to my local machine, I get the following error: "A Web Part or Web Form Control on this Web Part Page cannot be displayed or imported because it is not registered on this site as safe." It won't even allow me to add the webpart again. But if I go back to the sharepoint server, everything seems to be fine. Please, help. Thanks.

ChartPart for SharePoint

ChartPart for SharePoint is a web part for Microsoft SharePoint Services 3.0 or Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 which generates charts from SharePoint lists.
The ChartPart is free to use for everyone, as long as you follow the License, who would like to "light" up their SharePoint installation with some nice graphs and charts.

Why ChartPart for SharePoint

I created ChartPart for SharePoint to have an easy way to make nice dashboards in my SharePoint projects and to have a way to easy and fast build a demo site when meeting customers and demoing SharePoint. Why not lighten up the Fantastic 40 with some charts!
ChartPart should be a definitive candidate for all SharePoint projects and implementations.

Multiple graph types (bars, columns, lines, splines etc)

3D Graphs (new in 2.0)

Requirements

ChartPart for SharePoint requires that you have Microsoft SharePoint Services 3.0 or Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, the Microsoft .NET 3.5 Framework SP1 and the Microsoft Chart Controls for Microsoft .NET 3.5 (Download here).

I am using wss3.0 and I am getting an error stating, "Unable to add selected webpart. Chartpart: A Web Part on this page cannot be displayed or imported. The type could not be found or it is not registered as safe." I put the .dll in the GAC but this is not helped. Any help???? Thanks.

Hi, you can use WSS 3 or MOSS 2007. Make sure that you have installed, deployed and activated the MSChartControls.wsp package, also make sure that you have installed the Microsoft Chart Controls 3.5 SP1 /WW

I resolved my problem. In web.config there wasn't on the tags <httpHandlers> the <add verb="*" path="ChartImg.axd" type="System.Web.UI.DataVisualization.Charting.ChartHttpHandler, System.Web.DataVisualization, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral,PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35" validate="false" /> By Cardamone Claudio Thank's
